I doubt science. Science is only the human’s perspective of the providence of the universe and is based on the attitude that the human can control everything. Can we really control everything?

At least I cannot control even my mind or my body completely. I keenly feel that I, one of human beings, am only a cell in the universe very often.

The flow of the time, change, natural disaster, disease, the conflict between people…

The human as an individual is always exposed to stimuli and influenced by externals. We cannot avoid this at any era. It means what we desire is a peace of mind forever and ever.

People have been fighting again and again to obtain another right of the freedom of individuals. Nobody had the rights of freedom more than us before. But it looks that the more people gain individual freedom, the more the stress which each individual needs to receive increases.

Then it can be said that in the human history there has been no one who wanted the peace of heart and mind than now.

What can art do?

At the very least, it can provide people with space and time to escape from their daily lives.

Simplicity is considered the foundation and uniqueness of Japanese art.
But the most important factor is the negative space.
It is a garden of people’s imagination.
Every time you face a work of art, it shows you the view of the day.

Though my works looks very simple, the process is not so much simple.

I use traditional natural materials that do not rely on chemicals. I need to care about the weather, temperature and humidity. Handling Japanese ink and Japanese painting materials requires a lot of experience and technique. I need a lot of time and effort to put even one color every time. But I dare to spend this ‘time and effort’ not only to put a color, but to cause the feeling in the nature even though we are staying in the room.

I want the people who encounter my works to receive free time to play with nature and with their imagination.

I pray that my art can be a sanctuary for the hearts and minds of people today.

Dudo de la ciencia. La ciencia es sólo la perspectiva humana de la providencia del universo y se basa en la actitud de que el ser humano puede controlarlo todo. ¿Podemos realmente controlarlo todo?

Al menos yo no puedo controlar ni siquiera mi mente o mi cuerpo por completo. Muy a menudo siento que yo, uno de los seres humanos, sólo soy una célula en el universo.
El paso del tiempo, los cambios, los desastres naturales, las enfermedades, los conflictos entre personas…
El ser humano, como individuo, siempre está expuesto a estímulos e influido por lo externo. No podemos evitarlo en ninguna época. Esto significa que lo que deseamos es tranquilidad para siempre jamás.
La gente ha estado luchando una y otra vez para obtener otro derecho de la libertad de los individuos. Nadie antes tenía los derechos de libertad más que nosotros. Pero parece que cuanto más gana la gente la libertad individual, más aumenta la tensión que cada individuo necesita recibir.
Entonces se puede decir que en la historia de la humanidad no ha habido nadie que quisiera la paz de la mente que ahora.

¿Qué puede hacer el arte?

Como mínimo, puede proporcionar a la gente espacio y tiempo para evadirse de su vida cotidiana.

La simplicidad se considera la base y la singularidad del arte japonés. Pero el factor más importante es el espacio negativo.
Es un jardín de la imaginación de la gente. Cada vez que te enfrentas a una obra de arte, te muestra la visión del día.

Aunque mis obras parecen muy sencillas, el proceso no lo es tanto.

Utilizo materiales naturales tradicionales que no dependen de productos químicos. Tengo que cuidar el clima, la temperatura y la humedad. Manejar tinta japonesa y materiales de pintura japonesa requiere mucha experiencia y técnica. Necesito mucho tiempo y esfuerzo para poner aunque sólo sea un color cada vez. Pero me atrevo a gastar este “tiempo y esfuerzo” no sólo para poner un color, sino para provocar la sensación en la naturaleza aunque estemos en la habitación.

Quiero que las personas que se encuentren con mis obras tengan tiempo libre para jugar con la naturaleza y con su imaginación.

Rezo para que mi arte pueda ser un santuario para los corazones y las mentes de la gente de hoy.
